A giant steaming cup of McDonald's coffee at the corner of Bloor and Church

Yep, that’s a huge giant cup of steaming coffee advertising McDonald’s upcoming nationwide Free Small Coffee promotion which starts this Monday (November 16th) and lasts two weeks.  You can snag your free coffee during their breakfast hours, 5AM-10:30AM, and you don’t even have to purchase anything (in other words, expect a lineup).  This may seem familiar as McDonald’s had the exact same promotion back in April of this year.  It started a bit of a coffee war with other places like Country Style also giving out free coffee for a few days during McDonald’s promotion period.  It also happened to coincide with Starbucks’ Earth Day promotion, where you would be able to get free coffee if you brought in your own mug.  There doesn’t appear to be much of a war this time around though.
